$73,000 In Last 6 Years Given To St. Jude! $13,000 Given To Dorcheat Historical Museum
THE END OF AN ERA IN MY LIFE
I started this show in 2004 to do my part for what the city of Minden already does for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Minden gives more money per-capita than any town across the nation. Minden gives over 3/4 of a million dollars and has been giving for over 30 years! This show grew into one of the fastest growing in the South! In 2009 things changed with half the money going to St. Jude and the other half going to our local museum The Dorcheat Historical Association Museum. In 2010 I decided to end the show. Due to the amount of work required from friends and family I felt it was time to end it. I appreciate all the help and support since 2004. I could not have done any of it without hundreds of others that always stood by my side. This is an end of an era for me and I hope everyone understands.

I am Schelley Brown Francis. I am the Director of the Dorcheat Historical Association & Museum, Inc. My love of history is put to use in many different organizations. I serve on the board of the Minden Cemetery Association and created the Minden Cemetery Ghost Walk. I live in the Minden Historic Residential District which allowed me to serve as the president of the Minden H.R.D. Assoc. I love old cars they are the ultimate antique. I am a member of several car clubs. In 2004 Minden Cruisin' for a Cure Wheels Through Time Car Show was born, to benefit St. Jude and other non-profit organizations that I am involved with. I am honored to serve as the Jr. Vice President of Mid-American Old Time Automobile Association based in Morrilton, Arkansas. Member and past president of the Ark-La-Tex Antique and Classic Car Assoc. in Shreveport. It has been said about me that if it is old, rusty, buried, won't crank or the paint is peeling off that I must have something to do with it. I love preservation in all aspects. Enjoy my blogs and more important I hope you will support these efforts to preserve our past.
